Anyone else noticing a pattern of high heels in nearly every product for every female model for Daz Studio's females? I mean seriously, it's like content creators don't see the issue with every boot and shoe being a freaking stiletto. Adventurers, and Heroes shouldn't be wearing those ankle busters as they're highly impractical and it seems that the few modelers who realize this are rare as hell. Sorry, rant over.

Check out this hot merch from my boy Ronin Kurasaki tons of stuff with some ridiculously cool designs. There's memes, and sick art with lots of products to choose from including face masks, wearables, coffee mugs, and so much more. So check it out, order some cool SWAG, and be sure to share the link.

Recently I tried to view my basic stats which used to include my most favorited image but now I have to pay for that feature (thanks for the heads up BTW). Now cover images I created and had on display as examples of my work are another feature I have to pay for. Core rules...not. Anyone else dissapointed in DA's greed and complete IDGAF attitude towards their members. "Not making enough paper...take away something that used to be free but don't let them know ahead of time." Bastards. DA is about to get the Facebook treatment where i take what business somewhere else. TBH they coulda added some commercials (like the ones they make that flood every freaking page) and made some cash that way...I'm sure it was much smarter to just take features from artists without the slightest warning because pisssing off you memebers is ALWAYS a great idea.

Poking around here on Daz I see folks who are terrified their work will be stolen/downloaded and sold. This is a legit fear and I take no issue with it except when it comes to copyrighted material/Intellectual Properties. I am speaking directly to creators of fan art, all of you and even me. Something you need to know about your fan art is that you have NO CLAIM to the work you do. None. In fact if you do the research you will find that it is in the realm of possibilities for YOU to be sued by the IP holder for your non-profit fan art. You cannot copyright the work, or the labor or the story so long as the content contains the IPs of someone other than yourself. That said, I would like to say a word to those of you who want to sell models, images and other eratta of IP's you don't own. You are the worst dregs of the artworld ever. I get you don't see it that way, why shouldn't you be allowed to make money off your talent right? Except that talent is only half yours and it's probably less. The brand recognition had nothing to do with you, and you're ripping off folks more talented than yourself. That DA allows this type of commerce is shameful when they're "Working so Hard" to protect their artists, but protect no one FROM their artists. I know what the rest of you are thinking "I don't charge money for my fan art so I'm not doing anything wrong." WRONG. The reason nobody raises an eyelash is because of several factors: 1 money, If you don't get paid you didn't take profits from the Original IP holder right? You can still be sued, as it's illegal to reproduce copyrighted IPs in any form. However, most holders enjoy the hype and see it as a form of free advertising. 2 I'm not a big company, So? So you're just too small to notice but you are a giant middle finger to fans everywhere. Now as for me, I also do fan art, but my art is for the legit love of the material and I give it away (allow downloads) for free. Why? because it's not mine. It ceased to be mine the moment it was made, and the same is true of yours. Having worked on a 20th Century Fox (pre-Disney) AVP RPG project (that didn't go anywhere) I will reveal to you all what they told me about YOUR ART when we asked them "What art can we use?". The response was a little shocking but not cpmpletely unexpected when when you really think about it as they answered: "Anything. Any images of our property belong to us no matter who the artist is so there are no restrictions on what you can use." we didn't even have to give credit. Yeah, I coulda hopped on here (or anywhere else for that matter.) and taken ALL of your precious (AVP) fan art that you worked so hard on, and made a fat profit off of it and there wouldn't have been thing one ANYBODY could've done about it. Why? Because YOU DID'T OWN THE RIGHTS 20th CENTURY FOX DID! Now the reason for this rant (if you stuck around long enough) is simple: I keep seeing artists on here claiming to own some sort of copyright or another for their FAN ART. So I'm just here to clear the air... You own exactly... Diddly Squat. Your labor isn't protected, not your time, not your energy, nothing. So do you and me both a favor and stop claiming it is... Do something original if you want protection for your pieces. It's part of why I rarely do fan art. As for making money from your fan art, you probably shouldn't. I know folks are happy to pay you for your labor but is that illegal? Yeah, I'm afraid so long as the artist doesn't own the IP belonging to someone. Then that someone can issue a "cease and decist" against you even if you didn't know. What are your options then? If you wanna protect yourself from copyright infringement issues: NEVER TAKE MONEY, but even that isn't a 100% guarantee you can't get sued, parodies are often silly but it's they're usually safe and covered under the "Fair Use Act". Check out this article for more information, and a better explaination.
